Soda Stream Machine

Just got one today, and it seems cool.

Has anyone used these regularly and do they save you any money versus buying them predone in the bottle?

Just curious, thanks!

My sambo had a soda stream machine before I even moved here to Sweden this past November. We've given up buying any pop/soda in a bottle (like Coke or Sprite). We buy refills for the CO2 probably every 3 months, and probably soda syrup once or twice a month. I think it's really lowered the expense of buying name brand pop. I really like the machine! And I've taken to drinking just carbonated water...I notice I'm becoming more Swedish every day! Shocked Laughing

We've owned one for the past 2 or 3 years now and we love it. We're not big soda drinkers, but it saves a lot of both time and effort for when we DO want to. Lots less to lug home. Wink

I drink NO soda, but the rest of the crew says it's even better than buying prebottled as you can make it more personalized (one likes more bubbles, one likes less... two like it less sweetened... you get the idea). Very worthwhile buy.

At our house, JT is a guzzler of fizzy water. We finally got a soda stream and the financial savings on fizzy water alone are huge. It paid for itself very quickly.

We have two CO2 cannisters so there is no panic when it starts to spit and run out. We currently have 7 flavor syrups - I'm not a huge fan of the cola version, but really like the orange and he's found one very close to julmust.

And I have discovered that I can use almost any flavor crystal plus sugar and make my own flavors that are not from syrups.

Yes, there is definite savings for us.

We have had a soda stream for a couple of years now and it definatly has paid for itself many times over. We drink a couple liters a day and more in the summer( I love plain fizzy water) so during the winter we get a little better than a month out of a can of CO2 and in the summer about 3 weeks. We use FUN LITE instead of the syrups. Can't say if it's better or worse than the syrups but the kids like it. Oh and definatly keep 2 canisters, it's worth the convience.
