Kattpensionat / Cat caretakers

I'm trying to get an early start. Is there anyone who can recommend a good place (Västra Götaland area) that we can leave our cat around Christmas. I saw one near Landvetter called "katthotellet" but I'd never trust anyone with my cat unless I got a really good recommendation.

I have this picture of my cat being caged up for two weeks and it would kill him not to have human contact. If I weren't so paranoid about the airlines losing him, I'd take him with me!

How long of a time period??
Is it a boy or a girl? And is it "fixed?"
Breed? Does it like other cats/children?

If you really want it to be at a cat hotel, I don't have any suggestions there.
But if everything fits well with us, we would be happy to watch the cat over Christmas!

Our cat is okay with other cats. And our daughter is in awe of them, but she is very gentle.

Try checking with your vet. If they don't board, they might have a recommendation. Have you thought of a pet sitter? Someone to come to your home each day to care for your cat, and spend some time with it. Good luck.

I moved to Sweden with my 3 cats last year. If the cat is small enough, it will be able to ride in coach. I can try to answer any question you might have about airline travel with your cat.

Sorry to be so slow getting back. I have this praktik that is leaving my brain fried and very forgetful! I'm an accountant/programmer working as an engineer. Go figure.

For Boobear - We don't really have anyone who could come everyday. My husband's daughter (who is allergic anyway) moved to Borås.

For Hurly - That's such a nice offer! We first have to check with my husband's ex who watches Jimi for short periods of time for us. She just adores him but may go to Värmland over the holidays.

We'll be gone about 2 weeks. Jimi is a boy, just over a year old and was fixed last year. He's a mutt and has no problem with children and other than flinging a little extra litter on the floor, he's perfectly housebroken.

I'm not sure about other cats. He seems interested but he's not aggressive so I'm pretty sure he wouldn't be towards other cats. He's only an indoor cat and outdoors on a leash only. He doesn't have a problem with the neighbor's dog (It's just that the neighbor doesn't like cats.)

Jimi is really gentle also. I've had cats all my life but never one as social. He wants to be with people all the time and loves being picked up and cuddled.
