Driver's license away from home?

Hej! I've been living here for 5 years and still need to get my driver's license. I read about places where you can go away for a week (or 2) where they cram all the lessons and give you the tests during this time. I've been thinking about this as I do much better under stress and will be forced to focus and hopefully, (finally) come back with the license. I have a swedish friend that is also interested so it will help with any swedish I do not understand.

Has anyone done this before (gone away for the driver's tests)?

Thanks!

I haven't done it, but I will say that another advantage is that you'll be away from Stockholm and the traffic conditions will be less stressful.

Of course, if you want to do everything under Stockholm conditions (which might be wise if you're actually planning to do a lot of driving in Stockholm), there are intensive courses available in the Stockholm area as well.

Best,
Tim

I thought about this, I'm in the middle of the process, passed Theory and have the rest in 2 weeks. I decided not to after trying out a 2 driving school lessons and realizing that it would be a waste of money (also after 5 years!).

Do you have your drivers liscence frm before? I know that it is difficult learning manual, but these lessons start at the VERY beginning. You spend a while driving around a parking lot, then you learn country roads, then city driving, etc.

I found the few lessons I took helpful, I got a few good pointers that were important. But mostly they said 'yeh, you have a driver's response system, its just a matter of getting it geared to taking a test' that and I have a hard time figuring out WHAT I should be doing with my left leg.

Check what there success rate is, usually they are quite high and I imagine you will def. pass after all of that. BUT around here they averaged 14,000 SEK and I went for the vacation in Italy rather then pay that.
