LEGOLAND and accomodations
Hey!
It has been 5 years since we were last there, but my family and I would like to take our sons--ages 4 and 9-- to LEGOLAND this summer.
We would really like to stay at the hotel...but geez, 3900:- for a double room and tickets for 1 day. And a theme room and tickets? 5000 kronor.
I seem to remember that there is not much in the way of accomodations in Billund....is that true? We are not husvagn people so we are looking at taking our car on the ferry and staying at a hotel. No camping, thanks.
Can anyone recommend anything like a hotel that is close, clean, safe and more affordable?
Thanks a bunch!
Beka

Many moons ago we stayed at Billund Kro. Not fancy at all, but acceptable. Don't know what they'd have for a family (there were only two of us), but maybe worth looking into. Not very big, though, so could be booked up early.
As I remember, it wasn't too far from Legoland, either.

on a lego note...
Hey Beka - don't know if you guys do video games, but our boys got Legos Star Wars recently for XBox, and they really love it. I wonder if we regret it.
It is fun for them but we have to set limits.
fyi. We might be way behind the video game curve.

Yeah, we have that and the Batman one, too. He played it a lot in the beginning but it has taken second place to The History Channel on TV of all things Can't say I mind, really. Now with it getting nicer he is outside a lot too, building a treehouse with his buddies. Gotta love it!

We stayed at a stuga in the huge compound that is part of Lalandia last year. http://www.lalandia.dk/uk/holidayhomes/pages/ClassicPlus4Billund.aspx
I think they were only a year old then. We went during the week so it was stay 3 nights, pay for 2. It was very nice and completely equiped, from washer and dryer to schnapps glasses. About the same price as the hotel with a lot more space and self-catering. We are going back again this year. Your kids should be the perfect age!
